This does not work. I had tried that earlier but with the below suggestion my output xml has a empty xmlns="" as an attribute to some of the tags.
 <mapping>
> <class name="org.abc.xyv.model.ClinicalDocument">
> <map-to xml="ClinicalDocument" ns-uri="urn:hl7-org:v3" />
> <field name="typeId"
> type="org.abc.xyv.model.TypeId">
> <bind-xml name="typeId"/>
> </field>
> </class>
> </mapping>

Noe my xml looks like..
<clinicalDocument>
<typeId...>
<a xlmns="">
</a>
</typeId>
</clinicalDocument>
