Cocoon at Jax2003

The Jax2003 conference in Frankfurt finished today. The conference on Java,
Apache and XML attracted nearly 1000 people (up 20% from last year).

Cocoon played a prominent part at Jax this year. PowerWorkshops, several
sessions ("introducing" and "portal") attracted around 50 people per
session. But more importantly: Cocoon was often mentioned in OTHER sessions.
Just try to picture this (if you can): A session on Struts - where the room
is packed - and the presenter notices and introduces Carsten (who was
sitting in the audience) as "Germany's Cocoon Expert" (no offense meant to
all the other German Cocoon experts out there). And that in a Struts
session!

We talked to many people who are deciding whether to use Cocoon or Struts or
JetSpeed with the difference being that people now know about Cocoon and are
talking about it.

The buzz is there.

It was also great to put more faces to names and meet Pier Fumagalli who
gave a great talk on "The Apache Way" (my title).

Matthew
